The amount of coverage you receive depends on your family’s net income. If it's below $70,000, eligible treatments will be fully covered. If your family income is between $70,000 and $79,999, then 60% of eligible costs will be covered. Lastly, if your family income is between $80,000 and $89,999, then 40% of eligible costs will be covered. For full details, please refer to the program’s official coverage guidelines.
Generally, no, if you’re eligible for coverage through a plan provided by your employer, school, spouse, or family member, you won’t be able to use the CDCP. However, some people still may qualify for CDCP coverage alongside government social programs or if they’ve permanently opted out of pension benefits. For full details, please visit the program’s official eligibility page.
It’s best to call ahead, even if you’ve already registered with the CDCP. That way, whether you need routine or emergency care, you can confirm that a doctor or hygienist will be available to see you when you arrive at the clinic.
Once you’re registered with the CDCP, any coverage you’re eligible for will automatically be directly billed through the plan. So, instead of needing to pay the entire amount up front and receive reimbursement later, you’ll only have to pay the amount that isn’t covered.
