The Veneers Process
For composite veneers
A small amount of enamel will be removed to create a secure bond between tooth and veneer. Layer by layer, colour-matched composite resin will be added to the surface of the tooth, and a specialized light will be applied to harden the material. Lastly, we’ll gently shape and polish the tooth until it looks precisely the way you want it to.
For porcelain veneers
First, we’ll remove a thin layer of enamel, then take a digital impression of your teeth that we’ll use to craft your veneers. You’ll receive temporary veneers while we’re preparing your porcelain veneers, which will take about 3 weeks. Once they’re ready, they’ll be securely attached to your teeth using a strong and safe dental cement.

Veneers FAQs
Are veneers permanent?
No, while veneers might look and feel permanent, they aren’t expected to last forever.
How long do veneers last?
Veneers are typically expected to last around 15 years before they need to be replaced. Having said that, gentle use and good care can extend the lifespan of veneers to 20+ years.
Do veneers ruin your teeth?
Veneers don’t ruin your teeth. Even if we do need to remove some enamel to place your veneers, the amount is very small - only about 0.5 millimeters.
Veneers vs Lumineers: What’s the difference?
Lumineers are a brand of veneer that’s known for being thin and easy to place with little to no preparation. However, they have a reputation for being less durable than traditional veneers.
Should I get veneers or implants?
If your goal is to improve the look of your smile, you’re better off getting veneers. They’re more affordable and let you preserve your natural tooth structure.
Can anyone get veneers?
Getting veneers depends on the health of your gums and teeth; they might need to be treated first before you can get veneers. For very damaged teeth or teeth with very little enamel, crowns may be a better option.
I grind my teeth. Can I still get veneers?
You can still get veneers if you grind your teeth, but if you do, we strongly recommend that you get a night guard to protect your veneers. Unprotected, there’s a high chance your veneers will be damaged.
